What is Microneedling?

 

Medical Skin Needling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a treatment modality being added to numerous aesthetic skin rejuvenation treatment options. CIT, is used to break down scar tissue and to stimulate skin cells to proliferate. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers as well as in new capillaries for an improved blood supply.

 

How Does It Work?

Microneedling utilizes a revolutionary combination of 13 sterile, single-use surgical-grade needle tips which oscillate at adjustable speeds for greater efficiency, comfort, and safety! The device is gently moved across the treatment area while the 13 sterile needle tips puncture the skin and create micro-channels deep into the papillary dermal layer where the skin’s collagen and elastin fibers are located. With gentle, automated, reciprocating vibrations, the micro-channels help increase absorption of topical infusions while at the same time encouraging the body’s natural healing response by stimulating collagen production.

Microneedling  can offer deeper skin rejuvenation with the addition of growth factors, active ingredients, stem cells and/or hyaluronic acid (HA) into the treatment process. The microscopic channels created by the microneedling device enable these naturally-derived substances to penetrate deep into the inner layers of the skin to amp up the body’s natural wound-healing capabilities.
